I still can’t quite believe I’m saying this… but I won Gold in the Photographer category at the 2025 Wedding Choice Awards in Des Moines!

And the wildest part? I didn’t even know I had won.

I was sick the week of the awards ceremony and sadly had to miss it—so I really thought I’d just catch up on photos from the event later and cheer on all the amazing vendors who were there. Then, a week later, I went out for coffee with a friend and she casually congratulated me on the win. I just stared at her like, “Wait, what are you talking about??” She pulled up the results and there it was—Gold. My name. I was in total shock.

I’ve read the list about twenty times since then and it still doesn’t feel real. Being recognized like this—especially by the couples, families, and community I care so much about—is such an incredible honor.

This year also marks 5 years of Jenna McEntee Photography. Five years of showing up, growing, learning, and telling love stories with my camera. I’ve photographed weddings in historic buildings and backyards, with huge parties and just a few grandparents present—and every single one has meant something so real and lasting.

To all the couples who’ve trusted me to document one of the most important days of your lives—thank you. You’re the heart behind this work, and I wouldn’t be here without you.

To my fellow vendors in the Des Moines wedding world—you inspire me daily. Thank you for cheering me on and for the beautiful collaborations we’ve shared over the years.

And to everyone who voted, sent kind messages, or just believed in me—thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This little business has grown in ways I never could’ve imagined, and I’m so grateful I get to keep doing what I love.
